About the Owner
As the owner of Metamorphosis, Lori Elder Olson takes the beauty business very seriously!
In February 1996, Lori opened her first three chair salon, The Terrace, located in a beautiful historic Victorian house in the heart of Alameda.
In 2002, Lori's color theory and talents were put to the ultimate test by becoming an Internationally Certified Master Haircolorist.
In 2003, Lori began construction on her dream spa that would be an oasis in Alameda, and in October the new O Spa opened its doors and The Terrace was sold.
In 2009, Lori became certified withImage Skin Care, a doctor-preferred pharmaceutical-grade skin care line, for anti-aging chemical peels and facials.
In 2010, Lori completed training to become certified in detoxifying Herbal Body wraps that actually have a proven inch loss effect!
Lori's businesses have been awarded the People's Choice Award for " the Best Place To Relax" two years in a row, she has been featured in Alameda Magazine and the Alameda Journal on several occasions, and O Spa was featured on KRON-4's Best of the Bay!
In September 2010, Lori opened " Metamorphosis," a small, private studio providing personalized attention and all of her quality services.
The overwhelming response to the private studio prompted Lori to open a second Metamorphosis location closer to home, and family in the Dublin/ Pleasanton area, and plans are underway to open that location later this year.
Because she has a tween herself, Lori has discovered the need for services geared towards these young girls. The new location will be incorporating a classroom, where tweens, teens, and mothers re-entering the work force, or any woman wanting a brush up beauty course will be able to attend seminars as well as extensive 12 and 16 week courses which include cosmetology, DIY pampering services, etiquette, "what not to wear", life skills, workplace basics, job interviewing techniques, color analysis, and personality profiling.
Lori is currently working with sponsors who will offer a scholarship to students with financial challenges.
